Dawn Ivey

I was born on July 28, 1977 in Port Jefferson, New York to Catherine and David Legnini.  I was the first of five children to be born. My siblings are: Christopher, Jonathan, Daniel and Meaghan.

I graduated from William Floyd High School in June of 1995 with a Regents Diploma. I choose to go to Stetson University in DeLand, FL for my Bachelors of Business Administration in Human Resource Management and minors in Information Technology and Business Law.

After graduating from Stetson in December 1999, I moved to Tampa where my fiancé was living. On June 23, 2001, I married my husband Christopher James (CJ) Ivey. 

The day after we got married, my brother Daniel (14 at the time) came to live with us. Shortly after we got married, we got our dog Onyx (a black Pomeranian/Schipperke mix).  About a year after Daniel came to live with us, my sister Meaghan (12 at the time) came to live with us as well. Then we decided to get a 2nd dog so that Onyx would have someone play with. That's when we got JJ, a Boston Terrier/Boxer mix. 

At the time we were living in a two bedroom apartment which just wasn't enough space for CJ and I, the 2 kids, and the 2 dogs. This caused us to enlist the assistance of Robert Lugo (a real estate agent) to help us find our first house that would have enough room for all us. In December 2002, we moved into our first house in Valrico, FL - a 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 car garage house. Even though it wasn't my dream home, it was enough room for all of us, plus was in a good school district.

After school ended in the spring of 2004, my mother came from her new home in California to pick up Daniel and Meaghan.

In February 2006, we wrote a contract on a new house. This house was built from the ground-up with our options by Standard Pacific Homes. After a year of waiting, the house was finally done and we closed on the house in February 2007.  The house has six bedrooms, three bathrooms, den, bonus room, eat-in kitchen, and a dining room. At almost 3400 square feet, it is about double the size of our first house and has plenty of room. 

Since moving into the house, we have had plenty of family staying with us on-and-off. My husband's grandmother lived with us until she passed away earlier this year and my three brothers lived with us at various points in time. Right now it is just me, CJ, the two dogs and my sister Meaghan.

We are currently expecting our first child - a daughter due on April 17th, 2009.
